Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at Sol Ollantay, I was keen to explore the culinary offerings, given my appreciation for flavorful, authentic cuisine in both my travels and work as a wildlife conservationist in Kenya. The hotel's restaurant provided a complimentary buffet breakfast that, while convenient, presented a slight challenge as many items were somewhat depleted by the time I arrived. This was a disappointment; However, the available selections still offered a decent range to start the day. One morning, I attempted to savor their local specialties while enjoying the tranquil ambiance of the dining area. I was particularly drawn to the artisanal coffee, easily the highlight of my breakfast. The staff were attentive, though the rush of patrons occasionally hampered their ability to maintain the buffet. Steps from the hotel, I found Apu Veronica, a remarkable restaurant that stood out for its fresh, innovative dishes. Each dining experience reinforced the delightful culinary landscape of the area. While Sol Ollantay met my needs for a place to stay, the food experience could benefit from a more consistent approach in the buffet offerings.
